This project has been developed on a tight budget to replace an existing library facility in Castletymon Village Centre. The new structure will occupy an unused triangular site beside Castletymon Church. The library plan is a single triangular reading space with a further triangle of back-of-house facilities. The main space has a continuous wall of book storage on all sides interrupted by the windows orientated to the most relevant views. The building will be clad in black brick - with numerous brick specials to establish alternating textures based on the 45 degree building geometry. Internally; the concrete soffit is left exposed - a chlerestory band of timber battens will absorb unnecessary acoustic reflection. The construction project will be completed for the end of 2018.
