HRA were awarded First Prize in a competition to re-conceptualize this conference centre in Garmish- Partenkirchen in 2017 - The development of the project is ongoing with completion anticipated in 2021.

HRA's competition proposal retained a significant amount of the existing structure and added a new wing of 'Panoramafoyer' and multipurpose event space to generate a new expression for the building to the City. Fire safety issues with the existing building have been resolved by the new intervention.

Two storeys of car-parking beneath the new-build and adjacent public space will relieve traffic congestion - the entrance plaza can accept an additional parking requirement or can be used as additional external space for conference functions when required.

Design for a further development stage to include an additional theatre space is in development.
