After the closure of mining activities of the former Haus Aden Mine in Bergkamen, a permanent pump station will be required to control water levels in the disused mine system. This will also be a source of geothermal energy for a new residential & working quarter adjacent. In 2020 HRA were tasked to develop proposals as to how this piece of infrastructure could be integrated into a public park. The design proposal aims to do justice to both the historic mining heritage and the transformation of the former colliery site into a modern living and working quarter. An EFTE clad box will have a dynamic lighting display to reflect the level of energy being generated within the station.
